I'm teaching at LHS and
love it! It's a little strange walking the halls as a teacher. A
lot has changed but some things are still the same. The
same lockers are still there in C-wing.
I have two kids: Alexandra,
8 and Connor, 7. They consume most of my free time and I wouldn't have it any other
way!

In the fall of 1979, I
enrolled at Valdosta State College.
In March of 1983, I received my B.S. in Education (Major:
Business Education). I left Valdosta in the fall of 1983 to begin
my teaching career in Edison,
GA at Calhoun County High School.
It was an educational experience for me. The school had grades 6-12 and separate proms--black
and white. Students could only attend
classes and play sports together.
All dances were segregated. I observed
a neighbor as she made soap in black pot.
In 1986, I returned to Valdosta State College
and earned a Master's Degree and Education Specialist Degree while teaching at Quitman
Primary (Brooks County). In
1989, I was offered a position in the Business Department
at Lowndes High. For the
past 18 years, I have been a business teacher at LHS.
Currently, I am the CBE (formerly called VOT) Coordinator
and FBLA Adviser. I am very blessed to live in Valdosta close
to my parents who are still married after 45 years.
In 2005, I attended the funeral of two of our classmates--Carol
Jenkins and Marvin Jones.
Carol and Marvin were not only my classmates, they were also my neighbors and playmates
in the Jaycee Shack Road community.
It was good to read your updates. I probably have the longest one.

I was so happy to find
the LHS web page and learn of your adventures.
I recognized so many names as I was Counselor
at Hahira Middle before transferring to Lowndes where I had the Freshman Classes
until the Class of 92 arrived. That
was the first year that counselors moved up with
their students. I then had
the Class of 96. Some of
you still have the same sense of
humor that you did in high school and I have so many wonderful memories of those years.
I retired in Dec. 98 and would love to hear from you.
You were all very special to me!
